Pahang forward Patrick Cruz has admitted that the team is still reeling with delight after clinching the Shopee Piala FA Malaysia 2018 title against Selangor at Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil three days ago.
The Elephants were relieved to clinch their third Piala FA Malaysia especially after losing the final in 2017 to Kedah. They became the first team to enter back-to-back finals since Kelantan did six years ago.
According to the Brazilian forward, Pahang must revert their attention to the unifi Liga Super Malaysia 2018, as they will face some familiar faces in PKNP FC at Stadium Darul Makmur in Kuantan tonight.
“I am so happy, and the team is delighted as well. We brought the trophy home after four years and we are always in it to win it. The team must have been disappointed last season, but being here with them this year, I can safely say that the boys deserved all of the success,” as quoted by Patrick Cruz.
“However, as the league resumes, we have to focus on the remaining four matches of this season.
“Our sequence of matches is difficult, but our coach (Dollah Salleh) knows how to keep us on alert.
Patrick Cruz is on the brink of returning to full fitness after suffering an injury earlier this season but believes that the fans will make the difference during the upcoming matches of the league.
“I hope all of our fans continue to attend the matches and support us, because they are our 12th man.”
Pahang will face PKNP FC tonight and the match will be broadcasted live at 9PM on unifi TV.
