Pahang skipper Matthew Davies expressed his excitement at the signing of two foreign players during the transfer window ahead of their unifi Liga Super Malaysia 2018 clash against Kedah tonight.

The Elephants secured the services of Canadian playmaker Issey Nakajima-Farran and Nigerian forward Austin Amutu, replacing injured Francis Forkey Doe and Cambodian winger Chan Vathanaka.

The Australian-born defender believes that they will make impact in the second half of the season.

“We have made some changes to the team and I am sure that they will strengthen our squad,” he said.

“We will head into the game (against Kedah) with the intention of earning three points. Davies stressed how important it is for his team to win the match tonight because a victory will take them above Perak in second place, who have a tough match against Terengganu FC away from home.

“It is an important match for us because we need to continue winning matches to mount a serious challenge to Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at the end of the season. We cannot afford to drop points,” he concluded.

The 23 year-old will go up against the likes of Liridon Krasniqi, Baddrol Bakhtiar and Sandro tonight.
